“He carries the axe and the whip, and uses neither right now.” — Alex Oliver
The Bandit Leader stands easy, in no hurry.
— A heavy axe low in his right hand;
— A coiled whip in his left;
— Fur and good leather, better than a common bandit wears;
— A hard, lined face, older than the men he leads;
— One eye lost behind a strip of cloth, the other steady ahead.
SIGNIFICANCE
A band of outlaws follows one man, and this is him.
The axe is for enemies. The whip is for his own men.
He has lost an eye holding this place.
No one tests him anymore. He leads without lifting a hand.
Alex Oliver
the sculptor
With over three decades of experience in traditional and digital sculpting, Alex Oliver stands as a global reference in the field. He created 120 exclusive fine art miniatures for Fantastic Art Studios, honoring the classic icons of TTRPG—tabletop role-playing games. Oliver has worked with studios such as Blizzard Entertainment and Naughty Dog, shaping universes like World of Warcraft and Diablo II. He also sculpted lifelike dinosaurs for National Geographic and the Discovery Channel. In addition, he has taught at leading sculpture schools including Gnomon School, Massive Black, and LAAFA – Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art.
Oliver’s journey was not easy. He began without resources, mentors, or clear paths to follow. What carried him forward was a quiet obsession—an inner calling. A near-sacred commitment to treat every sculpture as worthy of existence.
